About CEA:
The CEA of Dept. of CE started functioning from 23rd Nov 1983 with Dr. K Nagi Reddy as the president & Dr. S. Ramaswami Reddy as staff advisor of the association under the principal ship of Dr.V Malakonda Reddy Garu and inaugurated by Sri V Raghavan, Chief Engineer (general) R&B Dept. AP. Head of the Civil Dept. is the chairman, all the faculty of Civil Engg. Dept. and students are the members of the association by default. Faculty are so keen interest to organize & motivate students to participate. It has been very active in organizing seminars, workshops, expert lectures and other technical programs involving Engineers of repute from industry, Academicians and Researchers. The activities of CEA have also been promoting students to develop organizational skills and managerial capabilities.
The aim of the association are two folds:
• To improve the technical & scientific background of the students
• To provide forum for the students and also staff of the college from where a support could be built with the engineers, managers & experts of various Civil Engineering organizations and Institutes.
Falling in line with the objectives of association, successive staff advisors/coordinators have played their role in providing the platform for organization of technical sessions like workshop, seminar and guest lectures etc.

Civil Engineering Association (CEA) of the Department of Civil Engineering, CBIT organized a Guest Lecture on “Building the Future: Civil Engineers as Community Architects” on 02-11-2023. Chief guest and Speaker of the guest lecture was Dr. G. Nanda Kishore, President, SNG & Associates, Inc., Pleasanton, CA. Guest Speaker has emphasized the role of Civil Engineers in modern communities and the evolution of Civil Engineering in building modern communities.
ENGINEERS DAY CELEBRATIONS | 2023 | CIVIL
Engineer’s Day is celebrated at Chaitanya Bharathi Institute of Technology Hyderabad under the aegis of Civil Engineering Association (CEA), Department of Civil Engineering in view of the 162nd Birth Anniversary of Sir M. Visvesvaraya on 15-09-2023. Principal and Patron Prof. C. V Narsimhulu, Chief Guest Dr. P. Rama Raju, (Retd.) Engineer-in chief, State irrigation Dept., Dr. K. Jagannadha Rao, Head-CED and Chairman, Dr. Jnana Ranjan Khuntia, Convenor and Faculty Coordinator of CEA were present. Forty teaching and non-teaching staff and 150 students from CBIT attended this program. Chief guest has delivered an excellent talk on “Glimpses of Dam Safety”
