On the eve of Diwali festival, the Chaitanya Parivrita and Chaitanya Srujana clubs at Chaitanya Bharathi Institute of Technology (CBIT), Gandipet, organized a vibrant diya-making event to celebrate the cultural significance of traditional oil lamps during this festive season. Students displayed their creativity through an impressive collection of handcrafted and decorated diyas, capturing the true spirit of Diwali.

Prof. C.V. Narasimhulu, Principal of CBIT, addressed the attendees, highlighting the symbolic meaning of lighting diyas. He emphasized that diyas represent the victory of light over darkness, knowledge over ignorance, and good over evil. He also underscored their longstanding importance in Indian culture, symbolizing positivity and auspiciousness while attracting good luck and dispelling negativity.

Sri E. Maheswar Reddy, Staff Coordinator of the Chaitanya Parivrita Club, praised the stunning selection of traditional earthen lamps, each intricately designed and vibrantly colored. Smt. A. Satyavathi, Staff Coordinator of the Chaitanya Srujana Club, emphasized the importance of lighting diyas as a means to encourage mindful rituals and a return to spiritual practices, providing mental peace in today’s fast-paced world.

The event fostered artistic expression and promoted eco-friendly celebrations. Club members sold the diyas to staff and students, generating enthusiastic participation from the CBIT community. The proceeds from the sale will support future cultural activities at the institute.

Overall, this collaborative effort between the Chaitanya Parivrita and Chaitanya Srujana clubs successfully celebrated Indian traditions while engaging students, creating a memorable experience for all involved. Student coordinators B. Kusumitha and Lingala Eswaraditya Reddy, along with dedicated staff and students, played vital roles in making the event a grand success.

As part of the Student Orientation Programme’ 2024, all the first-year admitted students participated in the “Orientation Programme” organized by CBIT to welcome the fresher’s. The Chaitanya Parivrita-Environmental Club introduced itself to the fresher’s and explained the club’s core mission. We emphasized the importance of the environment and current climate challenges with relevant examples.

Additionally, we presented the key objectives of the Chaitanya Parivrita Club:
1. Create awareness about the issues of the environment among the students and the need to protect it.
2. Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle (3 R’s).
3. Avoid the usage of plastic and other non-recyclable products.
4. Work to maintain ecological balance in nature.
5. Contributions for Biodiversity.
6. Organize activities to educate people, such as Harithaharam and World Environment Day

Chaitanya Bharathi Institute of Technology (CBIT), situated in the serene surroundings of Gandipet, Hyderabad, witnessed a remarkable display of environmental activism, as the Chaitanya Parivrita Environment Club organized a massive Tree Plantation Drive on the occasion of World Environment Day 2024.

Students, faculty, and staff of CBIT converged with shovels and saplings in hand, ready to make a tangible difference in their campus environment. Led by the Parivrita Chaitanya Parivrita Environment Club, the initiative aimed to combat deforestation and mitigate the impacts of climate change by adding greenery to the college landscape.

The event kicked off with an inaugural ceremony graced by the Principal and faculty members, who emphasized the significance of environmental conservation in today’s world. Speaking at the ceremony, the Principal lauded the efforts of the Parivrita Student Club and urged the college community to embrace sustainability as a way of life. With enthusiasm and determination, participants dispersed across the campus to designated plantation sites, where they meticulously planted over 50 saplings of indigenous tree species.

Students, in particular, exhibited a strong sense of environmental responsibility, recognizing the importance of preserving nature for future generations. The Tree Plantation Drive served not only as a means of greening the campus but also as a platform for fostering environmental awareness and activism among the youth.

The efforts of the Chaitanya Parivrita Environment Club were met with overwhelming support from the college community, with faculty members actively participating in the plantation drive alongside students. Together, they worked tirelessly to ensure the success of the initiative and set a shining example of collective action and commitment to the environment.

As the sun set on World Environment Day, the campus of CBIT stood adorned with newly planted saplings, serving as a living testament to the power of grassroots environmentalism. The Chaitanya Parivrata Environment Club, with the backing of the college administration, pledges to nurture and care for the planted trees, ensuring their growth and vitality in the years to come.

The event commemorating World Water Day 2024, with the theme “Water for Peace,” was organized by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Telangana. Chaitanya Parivrita, the Environmental Club of CBIT, took the initiative to gather students and facilitate their participation in this significant event. We extend our gratitude to the CII for organizing this impactful event and inviting CBIT students to participate. The objective of the event was to raise awareness about the critical importance of water conservation and sustainable management of freshwater resources in fostering peace and sustainable development.

Event Highlights:

1. Seminar on “Water for Peace”:
The seminar provided a platform for insightful discussions on the role of water in fostering peace and sustainable development. Experts and speakers shed light on various aspects, including the importance of water diplomacy, conflict resolution through water management, and the impact of water scarcity on social stability. Attendees gained valuable insights into the interconnectedness of water conservation and global peace efforts.

2. Quiz Competition on Water:
A quiz competition was held to engage participants and test their knowledge about water-related issues. This interactive session encouraged participants to delve deeper into topics such as water conservation techniques, global water challenges, and innovative solutions for sustainable water management. The quiz fostered a spirit of healthy competition while promoting awareness about the importance of water conservation.
